Cal Football Lands 2026 Commit In Roger Vanderhoef, Grant Offensive Tackle
It's Cal's second commit out of Grant High School in as many days.
Even though National Signing Day has come and gone, it’s still possible for high school recruits to sign with college football teams. There are plenty of gems out there looking for a chance to shine.
The California Golden Bears have landed another 2026 prospect at a position of need in offensive tackle Roger Vanderhoef. Vanderhoef joins his Grant teammate (edge Giovanni Hodge) in Berkeley, as both of the Sacramento prospects committed within the span of 24 hours.
Vanderhoef had been originally committed to Sacramento State, but after coaching changes got an offer from Cal earlier this January and decided on the Bears. He comes in at 6-8 and 350 pounds, so he definitely has the requisite athleticism to eventually excel in Berkeley.
Vanderhoef joins an offensive line recruiting class that includes offensive tackle Daniel McMorris, Esaiah Wong, Kamo’i Huihui-White, and Elisha Faamatuainu. There should be lots of competition this offseason with Bastian Swinney, Frederick Williams, Sioape Vatikani and Tyson Ruffins all returning too, and also Jimothy Lewis (via Mississippi State), Mykeal Rabess (via Florida International), Kahli Tafai (via Minnesota), Ashton Rivera (via Kent State), Jacob Arop coming from the portal.
Welcome to Cal Roger!
