Cal football fall camp Hard Knocks documentary released: Parts 1 & 2 out

This might be the most candid Justin Wilcox you've ever gotten.

The California Golden Bears have released a new four part fall practice documentary titled “Golden Era: Inside Fall Camp”, which is essentially the program’s current version of Hard Knocks. All kudos go to the Cal football creative media team, including Max Wood, Ezra Beehler and Valerie Grimaldo.

Here is the cliff notes summary of what you can expect while watching.

• Justin Wilcox welcoming the players back to Berkeley and talking about the goals and mission ahead for the team this year.

• More looks inside the meeting room and post-practice with Wilcox, reflecting on topics like game management, player execution and development. Wilcox really gets frank here, so if you want to see how he interacts with the players and a general look into his football mind, this is a good starting point.

• Some practice footage with good player and coach interaction. Both Mike Bloesch and Peter Sirmon discuss their mindset and approach going into camp.

• Interviews with super seniors Miles Williams and Craig Woodson as they reflect on their time at Cal.

• Cal running backs coach Aristotle Thompson emphasizing how players should be carrying the football.

• High kudos for the young freshman Josiah Martin, who is getting all the buzz as a potential newcomer who can stand out. Martin talks about his arrival at Berkeley and his acclimation to the current Cal coaching staff.

• Newcomer wide receiver Kyion Grayes discusses his relationship with Toler and adjusting to his time at Cal.

• New tight ends coach Mike Saffell gets a lot of pub, with a shout out from Justin Wilcox about why he is where he is.

• Jack Endries spends some time taking us through his mindset for the upcoming camp.

• This part of the documentary closes with Cal running back coach Aristotle Thompson and star Jaydn Ott, and you quickly learn why Thompson is so successful with getting running backs to sign up with the Bears.
