Cal outside linebacker Xavier Carlton signed by Chicago Bears
From Bear to Bear, Carlton will get his NFL shot in the Windy City.
The 2025 NFL Draft was a success for the Cal defense, as they saw four of their defenders get picked in Nohl Williams, Craig Woodson, Teddye Buchanan and Marcus Harris. They saw more good news, as Xavier Carlton signed as an undrafted free agent with the Chicago Bears. He will try and work to get on the roster to join his old teammate Elijah Hicks.
Carlton provided a lot of the havoc for the Golden Bears in his senior campaign, racking up 47 tackles, nine sacks, 11 tackles for loss, eight quarterback hurries, and two pass deflections in his final year at Cal. If he can realize his potential as an edge defender, he should have a great shot at sticking and lasting with the professional Bears.
Congrats to Xavier on getting his shot! Hopefully we see you on Sundays!
Ryan Coe signed with Tampa Bay. If he ends up making someone's roster, it would absolutely confirm that we suck at coaching special teams.
Congrats, Xavier! Soon enough, they will all be professionals.
