Air Force transfer forward Rytis Petraitis reportedly visiting Cal this weekend
The Bears are looking for top options for their starting unit and Petraitis would fit the bill.
The California Golden Bears have done an admirable job filling back up their roster with quality talents. Here are the commits they’ve landed so far:
Christian Tucker (UTSA point guard)
D.J. Campbell (Western Carolina guard)
Joshua Ola-Joseph (Minnesota wing)
Lee Dort (Vanderbilt big)
BJ Omot (North Dakota forward)
Jeff Nwankwo (top JUCO wing)
Now they are looking for the star punch that will lift them back to a tournament-ready team.
Two such talents visited this weekend. One you already know of is Stanford transfer Andrej Stojakovic, who took a trip to Berkeley over the weekend.
The other is a new face: Air Force forward Rytis Petraitis, who is one of the up-and-comers in the portal.
Petraitis averaged 15.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game last year with the Falcons. He also averaged nearly a block a game (0.9) and 1.6 steals and got to the charity stripe at an exceptional rate (6.3 free throw attempts a game). Those are top-two option numbers on a Power 5 college basketball team
Petraitis also visited Texas recently, but he did not commit on the trip he took to Austin. So the door is open for Cal.
Landing Patraitis would be huge.
Berkeley having wing specials for the 4/20 holiday. I think we may land 1 of the two (maybe with a local advantages with Stojakovic). I think Madsen can do good things with either.
