UT San Antonio point guard Christian Tucker transfers to Cal
Mark Madsen and the California Golden Bears are kicking into high gear in the transfer portal with five commits.
Two days, two guard commits for Cal men’s basketball. Welcome Christian Tucker to the California Golden Bears!
Tucker is a 6-3 junior from UT San Antonio. Last year in his junior season, he averaged 11.3 points 11.3 points, 2.9 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and 1.1 steals while shooting 87% from the FT line. He will provide an unselfish, ball-creatnig defensive-minded mentality if he ends up starting at point.
Cal finally has a point guard for their 2024 class, and along with DJ Campbell committing yesterday will at least have a few guards with NCAA experience under their belt. They will likely look for one more for depth purposes or perhaps to challenge Tucker.
But now with five commits from Tucker, Campbell, Lee Dort (Vanderbilt big), BJ Omot (North Dakota forward) and Jeff Nwankwo (top JUCO wing), Cal does now have five capable players on their roster. The Bears have at least avoided doomsday. They have a squad for bigger names to join up with.
Finally, your daily remainder on how you can help by donating to NIL: Make sure to contribute to the men’s basketball NIL in their fundraising drive (currently at $131k+ raised with a goal of $500k) to help Mark Madsen land the remaining prospects needed to make noise in the ACC!
Developing Cal recruiting stories
Cal is reportedly getting a visit from Air Force transfer Rytis Petraitis. Petraitis is one of the top prospects in the portal.
And you know this, maaan!
Rydis no longer wants to. Ean Air Force officer? Well I wonder what Jim Knowlton thinks about that
