Cal lands transfer portal safety Dru Polidore from Montana State
The California Golden Bears landed a potential FCS gem over Stanford.
Cal landed one final surprise via the FCS to FBS transfer pipeline from a championship finalist. Incoming is Dru Polidore from the Montana State Bobcats, who had a decision between Cal and Stanford and ended up in Berkeley. In fact, according to Ryan Young of Rivals, Polidore liked his Cal visit so much that he didn’t even decide to take his Stanford trip!
"I had narrowed it to down to Cal and Stanford, and I was supposed to hop into a car tomorrow morning to go to Stanford, but I decided that wasn't really necessary. Saw enough here that I decided that I'll just hop on a plane tomorrow, go back to Bozeman to pack and come back here Monday morning and get ready for team meetings," Polidore told Golden Bear Report.
In his junior season at Montana State, Polidore racked up 35 tackles, two interceptions and a pass breakup. Polidore had nearly 500 snaps at Montana State this season, most of them coming at free safety.
Polidore figures to join a very crowded rotation battling for the top safety spots this spring, as both Craig Woodson and Miles Williams have graduated. Ryan Yaites, Jaisiah Wagoner, Ja'ir Smith, Isaiah Crosby all saw time at safety last year and are expected to battle. Cal also added transfer Tristan Dunn and freshman Aiden Manutai.
Welcome to Cal Dru! Go Bears!
One thing is clear: Cal under JW has always been a good place to be a DB! Glad to have Dru in the fold.
I love everything about this article! Lol Welcome to the Takers, Dru!
