Cal Football Signing Day 2022 Live Chat: Bears expect to land a dozen talents
It will be one of the quietest signing days for the Golden Bears in some time.
Cal is expected to have a quieter Signing Day than usual.
Cal currently has ten Golden Bears likely to fax in their papers today to be joining the freshman class of 2023.
Tiumalu Afalava, La Puente (Ca.) Bishop Amat defensive lineman
Sailasa Vadrawale, Rohnert Park (Ca.) Rancho Cotate cornerback
Zurich Ashford, Las Vegas (Nv.) Arbor View defensive lineman
Two more transfers are expected to join them in UNLV cornerback Nohl Williams and Colorado defensive back Kaylin Moore.
The Bears currently have the 83rd ranked recruiting class in college football according to 247 Composite. That would rank 11th in the Pac-12 and third-lowest among all Power 5 programs.
There is expected to be maybe one or two kernels of news to drop regarding some additional commitments, and we’ll have it covered during the day. But if I had to guess, the Bears are likely turning their focus to the transfer portal in hopes of making immediate talent infusions. Justin Wilcox wants a turnaround in a hurry.
Enjoy Signing Day all!
I’ll trade two safeties and a wide receiver for a massive OL tackle.
Yo Cardwell is transferring here!
