Cal football recruiting commit: Anthony League, 2025 RB from Long Beach
The California Golden Bears land two huge commits in one day to bring their 2025 class up to eight.
The California Golden Bears have gotten three commitments in the span of a week for the 2025 class. First came OL Ben Howard over the weekend, then DL Ike Okafor this morning, and now a second RB for the Bears in Millikan ball-carrier Anthony League!
League was offered this week and was quick to commit. League also received offers from Arizona, BYU, Colorado, Oregon State, Utah and Washington. 247sports Composite ranks him the 72nd best running back and 78th best California prospect. Here’s a look at his tape.
More on League’s commitment from Matt Moreno at Rivals.
"After speaking with Coach AT about the program and his vision for the RBs and for me, I was inspired by his genuine and honest feedback," League said about his decision to commit to Cal so quickly. "His insights and plans to help me reach the next step in my journey made this decision clear. Not to mention, it’s one of the top academic institutions."
"Coach AT's expectations for the RB room were spot on. You're taught to understand every aspect of the game and everyone’s role. The RB room is highly competitive, yet everyone pushes each other to excel. The opportunity to develop both as a football player and as a young man is invaluable."
League piled up 1,100 all-purpose yards in 2023 at Los Alamitos, rushing for 995 yards on 104 carries and 13 touchdowns.
Cal is up to eight commitments in the 2025 recruiting class, with verbals also from quarterback Robert McDaniel, running back Jojo Solis, linebacker Carter Jones, cornerback Kaden Cook and tight end/wide receiver Meyer Swinney.
