Cal lands a commitment from South Dakota WR transfer Quaron Adams
The California Golden Bears add speed to their wide receiving corps.
The California Golden Bears landed a solid commitment in the wide receiving corps out of the FCS ranks. Meet Quaron Adams from South Dakota.
Last year Adams made the most of his touches with the Coyotes, compiling 18 catches, 543 yards, 5 TDs to go with a 70 yard rushing TD. At top speed, Adams runs a 4.3 40 yard dash, which would make him one of the fastest players on the Bears this season.
Adams had his fair share of highlights last season, with a few explosive touchdowns.
Despite the host of transfers at running back and tight end, the Cal wide receiver corps remains mostly intact through the transfer Adams should be a nice speed complement to the wide receiving corps of Tobias Merriweather, Jonathan Brady, Jacob De Jesus, Trond Grizzell, Dazmin James, Kyion Grayes, and Trevor Rogers. Kyle Cefalo has a lot to work with this fall.
On we move to the next generation of the California Golden Bears.
Welcome to Cal Quaron!

I want you to consider for a moment that he averaged over 30 yards per catch. To put that into context, that's on pace to set the all-time record for average yards per catch.
.
He only had 18 catches and rushed the ball three time for a total of five receiving TDs and one rushing TD. Sure, it's FCS level competition for most of the season, but it's still impressive that he scored every third time he touched the ball.
We lost The Jet, but we are getting jet sweep. 247 has him listed as a RB out of HS and we, Oregon, and Zona had offered. I'm hoping he'll be used in a hybrid-type role.
