The California Golden Bears are starting from scratch on offense. Big Game Hero Jonathan Brady has moved on, multiple sources have told On3.
Brady caught the game-winning touchdown from Fernando Mendoza in the 2024 Big Game, capping a five reception, 64 yards, two touchdown performance. Brady was fourth on the team in receiving production, with 36 receptions and 386 receiving yards for three touchdowns.
Now gone from the 2025 Golden Bears offense are:
Six of their top eight wide receivers, including Nyziah Hunter, Mikey Matthews, Josiah Martin, Mason Starling, Mavin Anderson.
Cal has somewhat stemmed the losses. Incoming are Dazmin James (via Arkansas), Jacob De Jesus (via UNLV) and Quaron Adams (South Dakota) this past weekend, so Kyle Cefalo has been active on the recruiting trail. And Tobias Merriweather, Trond Grizzell, Kyion Grayes and Jordan King have produced before and have latent talent.
But losing this much experience is daunting. Embattled offensive coordinator Bryan Harsin has his work cut out. And Cal fans will have to learn a lot of new faces.
Best of luck Jonathan! Thanks for an epic memory in Memorial.
