Cal lands commitment from Liberty edge TJ Bush Jr.
The California Golden Bears get a much needed transfer to upgrade their pass rush.
Cal has landed two transfer portal commits in two days. Here comes TJ Bush Jr. from Liberty!
Bush Jr. lit up the statsheet in Liberty, compiling 90 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, & 9 pass deflections through two seasons. Junior will have two years of eligibility remaining. Here’s his freshman tape.
Cal has a lot of talent on their team at edge but definitely room for experience and production. Current defensive ends on the team include T.J. Bollers, Tyson Ford, Nate Burrell, BJ Canady, Derek Wilkins, Legend Journey, and Michael-Anthony Okwura. Current outside linebackers include Jayden Wayne, Ryan McCulloch, Odera Okaka, and Serigne Tounkara. Bush Jr. has the numbers to be plugged in and produce early.
It’s two transfers in two days for the Bears. South Dakota wide receiver Quaron Adams figures to add speed to the offense, and now the Bears hopefully have a new pass rusher they can rely on next season.
Welcome to Cal TJ!
Excellent addition!
Talk about culture shock. Going from Liberty University in Virginia, once led by Jerry Falwell as President, to wild and free Cal in Berkeley. lol.
Seems solid. Unfortunately, all attention is on the offensive side of the ball for obvious reasons.
