Cal Football Transfer: Rico Walker, Tight End From Purdue
The California Golden Bears land their second tight end of the 2025 portal period.
Cal’s transfer portal period is winding down, and it seems as if they’ve addressed most of their pressing needs. The latest need addressed is tight end depth, as they secured the addition of Rico Walker via Purdue. Walker will have two years of eligibility remaining.
The 6'3", 250-pound tight end caught nine passes for 100 yards with the Boilermakers last season. He was previously at Auburn and Maryland.
Cal lost two tight ends to the portal in Landon Morris and Ben Marshall. But Dorian Thomas was widely considered one of the best tight ends available in the portal, and Walker and Marshall do provide a solid one-to-one comp.
